Health Care

The Wilmington area offers excellent health care facilities and services. Because of the growing popularity of this region many physicians have moved their practices to the Wilmington area. Due to the number and quality of the physicians practicing in Wilmington today, people from inland towns make special trips to Wilmington for quality health care services.

North Carolina’s southern coast has more than 360 practicing physicians along with four hospitals that provide comprehensive health care services, including New Hanover Regional Medical Center (the largest hospital in Southeastern North Carolina), Cape Fear Hospital (Wilmington’s other hospital), Brunswick Community Hospital (located just South of Wilmington) and Pender Memorial Hospital (located just North of Wilmington).
